A little help for your everyday records. Find answers about getting started, budgets, backups, and purchases.

How do I start for free?

Finish the budget setup and choose the option to continue for free. The cat, expense tracking, budgets, savings goals, and charts are free. Wish setup can be skipped and completed later.

What is the difference between today’s allowance and budget surplus?

Today’s available amount is the allocated daily budget minus recorded expenses funded from that budget. A budget day is settled after it ends; today is not included in accumulated surplus early. Overspending can produce a negative amount. Budget edits generally take effect the next day and keep historical plans intact. Missing expenses can overstate surplus.

Is the My wishes real money?

The My wishes records money you say you have set aside, taken out, or used for a wish. Yudao does not hold money or transfer funds. Budget surplus does not automatically become a savings deposit; you must confirm a savings entry. Check these records against your actual accounts.

What does a skipped purchase do?

It records a purchase you chose not to make. It does not increase budget surplus, the My wishes balance, or your streak of positive budget days.

When are recurring expenses recorded?

After a recurring item becomes due, Yudao adds it the next time you open the app or bring it to the foreground. It does not promise scheduled background entry creation while closed.

How do I back up or move to another device?

In Settings, choose Export full backup and save the JSON file securely. Use Restore a backup on the other device. Back up the current ledger before restoring and read the replacement confirmation. CSV exports are for reading and analysis and cannot restore a complete ledger. Exports contain private financial records.

What does Premium include, and how do I restore it?

Expense tracking, budgets, savings goals, charts, and the two quick-entry widget layouts are free. Yudao Premium unlocks the dog, hamster, bunny, all eight data-widget layouts, and optional iCloud sync. Widgets follow your selected companion; the two free entry layouts support all four illustrations.

Choose a monthly or yearly auto-renewable subscription, or a one-time lifetime purchase. Active plans unlock the same Premium features. Existing lifetime purchases remain valid. Subscriptions renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the current period ends; manage or cancel them in Apple subscription settings. Prices and billing periods are shown before purchase. Restore purchases with the original Apple Account.

How do I cancel a subscription?

Open Apple subscription settings from Yudao’s membership page, or open Settings on your device, tap your Apple Account, then Subscriptions. Cancel at least 24 hours before renewal. Deleting Yudao does not cancel a subscription. Access normally continues until the paid period ends; lifetime access does not renew. Apple handles billing and refunds.

Home Screen widgets

Add Yudao from the Home Screen widget gallery. Add entry and Quick entry are free. Daily allowance, wish progress, budget surplus, recent expenses, and the weekly chart require Premium. Small and medium sizes provide 10 layouts in total. Widgets follow the companion selected in Yudao. Open Yudao after editing records, changing companion, or restoring access; iOS controls the timing of widget refreshes.

How does iCloud sync work?

With active Premium access, enable iCloud sync in Settings. Review the initial merge preview and confirm. Use your own Apple Account and the same ledger currency on both devices. Yudao attempts to merge after local changes, when returning to the foreground, or on manual sync. It does not promise real-time background sync. Offline entries stay on the device. Turning sync off does not delete uploaded data, and sync does not replace a separate backup.

What should I include in a support request?

Include your device model, iOS version, Yudao version, steps to reproduce, and the message shown. If useful, attach a screenshot with private amounts, names, and notes hidden. Do not send passwords, verification codes, full payment card numbers, or an unredacted ledger.

This website provides complete information in Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, English, Japanese, Korean, German, French, and Spanish. Other app languages can use the English pages or contact support in their preferred language.
